Pianist Omri Mor, Maestro Tom Cohen, and the Jerusalem East and West Orchestra in a tribute concert to the Algerian pianist and father of the Raï genre, Maurice El Medioni, who passed away earlier this year at the age of 95. Medioni was one of the most important and influential musicians of our time. He is considered the pioneer of the Raï style and the one who "imported" many Western elements into North African music. In addition to being closely associated with North African music, Medioni often performed at jazz festivals around the world.
