The internationally acclaimed bassist, singer, and composer Avishai Cohen has become one of the most influential and talked-about figures in contemporary jazz, with a repertoire spanning over three decades and still expanding. Cohen is likely the most successful musician most closely associated with the "Israeli jazz" sound, which has transcended borders and earned him international recognition with a distinctive sound, unlike many of his contemporaries.
As you may recall, Avishai was also the artistic director of the festival, and we are proud to see him return home to the main stage at the port.
