The 1970s and 1980s were undoubtedly among the most significant decades in jazz, a groundbreaking period that brought a true innovation in sound, opened new possibilities for creators, and attracted a new and young audience captivated by the world of jazz. At the center of this era was the band Weather Report, led by Wayne Shorter, Joe Zawinul, and Jaco Pastorius, all of whom are no longer with us. The trio of bandleaders were a huge inspiration both together and separately, and their work stands the test of time (and even improves with age).
